Back Forty was established in Winchester, Kentucky in 2020.  Owners and founders, James & Matt, became interested in the process of making natural soaps after trying other brands on the market.  Hearing tales of yesteryear of how soap was made on the back forty, James (nicknamed 'The Scent Guy') and Matt, (nicknamed 'The Chemist') decided to give it a try.  Some extensive internet research and a couple of failed batches later, Back Forty SoCo was born.

 All products are made by hand in small batches at a farm in rural Clark County, Kentucky.  The scents are all named for streets, roads, and areas around this small, Kentucky town.

Back Forty SoCo is a family affair, with wives and kids pitching in as needed.   Just like any working farm, everyone does their fair share of chores and gets to end the day with dinner by the campfire.
